Sweet-and-strong mustard is a fixture of the Swedish table, and the mild version is the one that goes on Christmas ham. Julskinka is glazed with a paste of mustard, egg yolk and breadcrumbs, then returned to the oven until the crust sets — the sugar in the mustard is what browns it. Lars Own blends brown and yellow mustard seed, leaning sweet.

Serving suggestions: brush over a baked ham; whisk with dill, vinegar and oil into gravlaxsås for cured salmon; or simply set it beside sliced falukorv sausage with boiled potatoes. It is also the right mustard for a Janssons frestelse side plate.
